“Serving God is doing good to man, but praying is thought an easier service, and therefore more generally chosen.”

This is the page that I hope generates the most activity.  Exploring life has become a joy for me, again, at middle age.  It seems that we enjoy discovering the wonders of the world as children, but then at some point decide we’re “grown up” and stop learning.  It’s at this point, I believe, that most people stay.  We limit ourselves to self- or society-imposed boundaries for what are deemed “acceptable” behavior or topics.

Well, SCREW that!  I’ve reached a point in my life where I don’t want to be held back by what “society” dictates, primarily because I believe, on the whole, that “society” knows nothing but “the way it’s always been” and cares little for, and perhaps hates, new or (gasp) honest ideas.  Children are said to be able to learn much faster than adults.  I believe this is largely due to their lacking egos and biases – the “adult” characteristics that make so many Americans act as outright jerks.  I consider myself to be child-like in my approach to the world.  And I think it’s a shame we have so many “grown ups” running around, messing things up.
